Candidates Needed for Municipal Election Races

     2025 is described as a municipal election year because many of the offices on the ballot will be local offices. Aside from retention votes for some judges on our state courts, county offices (row officers such as Controller, Treasurer, Clerk of Courts and Coroner and Common Pleas judges) will be the highest-level races this year.
    Also very important, but typically receiving less attention, are the elections for municipal offices such as township supervisor, district magistrate and school director. In addition, 2025 is the year to vote for the officials who manage the elections in each of our precincts. The need for fair-minded Judges of Elections and Inspectors of Elections is especially critical in our current contentious political environment.
    Municipal and precinct offices are entry-level choices for those interested in seeking political office. They are also the most difficult offices for which to recruit candidates. In races of concern to Westtown, Thornbury and Birmingham residents, WTB Dems are seeking candidates for Westtown Supervisor and for school director in both the West Chester and Unionville Chadds Ford school districts. We also need candidates for Judge of Elections or Inspector of Elections in many of our precincts. Please contact WTB Dems at [email protected] with questions.
    To help those who want to explore running for office, Chester County Voter Services has scheduled training on February 6 on how to run for office.
