Committee Person Description and Duties

Committee persons or CPs are the official party representatives within each voting precinct. Our zone has 9 precincts across the three townships of Westtown, Thornbury and Birmingham. With 2 CPs per precinct, Zone 6 is eligible to have 18 CPs.

• Participate in the annual county-wide party meetings to endorse candidates and elect officers.
• Attend monthly meetings of their zones where they help to plan and then implement political activities.
• Volunteer themselves and recruit others as poll watchers and greeters for their voting places on primary and general election days
• Work with other CPs and volunteers to collect signatures for nominating petitions, canvass their precincts to advocate for Democratic issues and candidates, and participate in other efforts to get out the vote.
